UPO RECEIVED THE FIRST BATCH OF MEDICAL SUPPLY DONATED BY DIRECT RELIEF

On the 18th of April 2022, The United Peace Organization in the presence of the representative of the refugee commission and HAC General Director, received the first batch of humanitarian aid and medical equipment donated by Direct Relief.It is part of a project that aims to provide medical, public health and social services to Ethiopian and Eritrean refugees who have sought refuge in Sudan following conflicts in the Tigray region. The project will be implemented in three states (Kassala, Gedaref and Khartoum) targeting 200,000 refugees and host communities.
UPO Executive Director Ibrahim Modi expressed his hope that this project would be circulated in most of the states of Sudan, praising the support of the Sudanese Organizations Forum, the Refugee Commission, the Humanitarian Aid Commission and all partners.
In turn, Ibrahim Abdullah, representative of the Refugee Commission in Sudan, praised the great efforts made by the organization to focus on areas of fragility, pointing out that the project will have a direct impact on serving refugees in the three targeted areas, expressing his aspiration that the project includes other states.
