UPO Emergency interventions

Our emergency intervention remains the biggest in all UPO program,this sector has been very effective and efficient as its’ responds to the onset emergency and critical needs to save life of thousands of the people that affected by these emergencies in timely manner to improve and protect their dignity.UPO humanitarian services include provision of shelters and NFI kits,training on disaster risk reduction,food distributions including hot meals,community capacity building to help reduce the stress and shocks the community faces.In the second phase of these interventions,UPO focuses on building transitional shelters,supporting the communities with livelihood means,strengthening their capacity and creation of assets that build their resilience and self-reliance.These interventions target IDPs, returnees and refugees.

Since the establishment of the organization in 2009 to date, UPO has reached and saved lives of more than 1.1 million with its humanitarian interventions (Shelter and Food)

  • 500,000 peoples IDPs, refugees, returnees and emergency affected populations supported with improved emergency shelters, NFIs kits and transitional shelters
  • 900,000 peoples reached with capacity building and awareness sessions on DDR related topics
  • 300,000 provided with foods including hot meals and saved their lives.

 UPO seeks to promote peace and development amongst the communities of Sudan.
